Hydroponic Garden
Popular Hydroponics or “Soil-less Cultivation” allows, with reduced water consumption and little physical work, the production of vegetables in small spaces, often taking advantage of discarded elements, which if not used would cause pollution.
With this agricultural technology, potential productivity is obtained which, in some cases, under optimal technological conditions, can reach higher yields than even the traditional horticultural system.
The installation of this type of vegetable garden in a bunker is possible thanks to the replacement of solar energy with light energy from LED lamps, receiving the nutrients necessary for their development through a water irrigation system that provides them with the different mineral solutions.
Some of the advantages of installing a hydroponic garden in a bunker are the following:
- Controlled environment: i.e. temperature, humidity and light can be precisely regulated to optimise crop growth.
- Protection against extreme weather conditions: Being underground, crops are less exposed to adverse conditions, which increases stability in production.
- Small space: to carry out this type of cultivation, large extensions of land are not necessary, as in the case of traditional cultivation, making it ideal for this type of installation.
- Increased food safety: Food production in a controlled environment can be more predictable and less susceptible to external factors, contributing to increased food safety.
- Reduced water consumption: Hydroponics itself already significantly reduces water use compared to traditional cultivation methods, and when combined with efficient water management in a closed environment, even more sustainable use can be achieved.
NBC Filtration
Air filtration in bunkers, especially in situations where the possibility of NBC contamination is considered, is of paramount importance to ensure the safety and survival of the people inside the shelter. NBC refers to nuclear, biological and chemical threats, and air filtration in this context focuses on preventing contaminants from entering the protected space.
This system will serve two purposes: on the one hand, it prevents the build-up of carbon dioxide produced by those inside. On the other hand, it prevents toxic particles from entering from outside.
Condensation water generation
One of the main advantages of atmospheric water generators is the production of clean and safe drinking water.
These devices use a multi-stage filtration system to remove impurities, contaminants and harmful substances from the moisture in the air. This process ensures that the water generated is free of contaminants and suitable for human consumption.
Atmospheric water generators use some key scientific principles to extract water from the air we breathe. They operate on the principle of condensation, similar to how moisture forms in a glass of cold water on a hot day.
The operating process consists of four main stages:
- Air collection: The atmospheric water generator draws air from the environment by means of a fan or compressor.
- Filtration: The system filters the incoming air to remove dust, debris and any other impurities.
- Condensation: The filtered air reaches a cooling chamber, where it is cooled to a temperature below its dew point. This causes the water vapour to condense into droplets on the surface of the condenser.
- Collection and filtration: These condensed water droplets then fall into a collection tank. From there, another filtration process removes the remaining impurities, ensuring that the water is safe for human consumption.
Tubular skylights with natural light
This type of system guarantees the entry of natural sunlight from the outside by means of a system that acts as a tubular skylight covered on the inside by a system of mirrors that captures, transfers and diffuses the sunlight into the different rooms of the bunker.
Video surveillance and anti-intrusion system
In order to guarantee the security of all the inhabitants of our bunker at all times, we implemented an outdoor security system, based not only on video surveillance cameras, but also on perimeter intruder detection. The aim of this joint system is to be able to anticipate the alarm signal and have more reaction time in case of any attempt of access to the bunker by outsiders.
Our intruder detection system is based on a system of infrared barriers, which are active elements that emit an infrared signal, and therefore invisible to the human eye, between a transmitter and a receiver. When this signal is interrupted, the receiver detects the absence of signal and provides an alarm signal. There are a number of parameters,
configurations and technologies to reduce false alarms.
The perimeter security columns for infrared barriers arise from the problem that IR barriers, by themselves, are easy to circumvent as they are exposed to the view of anyone. These Perimeter Infrared Columns that we propose as a security system have a double function: to protect these IR sensors from possible acts of vandalism and to hide their existence, number and specific location within the IR Column. These columns are also simple and adapt completely to the surrounding environment.
As an addition to the above and, taking into account the importance of visualizing what happened outside, an accessory known as PTCCTV will be installed, this accessory allows instant visualization of any intrusion within the security perimeter through the installation of up to two CCTV cameras.
This is a perfect solution for the surveillance of any perimeter, since inside the Infrared Column it is possible to integrate a CCTV system, video analysis, IP cameras resulting in a much cleaner and compact final installation that guarantees in an effective way the security inside the bunker.
